For over 10 years, it’s been our goal and passion to keep “mission critical” industries – utilities, transit and public safety – connected and in control.
We provide a unified operating platform for safely locating, tracking and supporting all aspects of mobile field operations. We deliver real-time access to virtually any mobile asset, and we bring it all together in one cost-effective, enterprise-wide view that shows the location and status of mobile operations, including personnel, equipment, vehicles and tools.
Utility is a venture-capital funded company headquartered in Decatur, Georgia (metro Atlanta). The predecessor company was founded in 1993, developing software for mission-critical field work force operations for the Electric and Gas industry. This software evolved into AVaiLWeb, our premiere SaaS solution.
In 2005 we designed and built the first generation of Rocket vehicle wireless router because there were no existing commercial products with the broadband and WiFi capabilities our customers needed. Hurricane Katrina made it clear that First Responders also needed the capabilities we provided to Utilities, so we expanded our marketing focus in 2006. After selling our solution to the police departments of two major public transit agencies, their bus and train operations teams adopted the Rocket and AVaiLWeb for their entire fleet operations.
In 2013 we acquired Digital Safety Technologies and added in-car video solutions. Shortly after, we discovered the need for smarter body-worn cameras, especially for law enforcement. Since then, we have been diligently working on a Generation 2 BodyWorn video solution that solves issues in competing body cameras.
